How to Write a Travel Guide: Young Bloggers part 1 – Italy, London & Paris

Hello, my dear colleagues, students, and parents! Last week I was a guest in Shavy’s classroom (Shavy’s English Hut) and we had an amazing lesson where the students learned how to write a tour guide for their favorite city through discussion, exploration, and collaborative writing. They have written articles about their favorite places in pairs and the articles you will read below are completely unedited and shared as the students wrote them. Before we dive into their articles, explore the 7 tips from Wanderlust that will tell you how to write a travel guide even if you are a beginner.

How to write a travel guide even if you are a beginner?

  1. Have a clear storyline in mind.
  2. Make sure your article has a purpose or goal.
  3. Edit your experience to fit your story.
  4. Write an irresistible first paragraph.
  5. Include dialogue.
  6. Value the difference between ‘show’ and ‘tell’.
  7. Aim to entertain the reader, not impress them.

Italy comprises of the world’s most varied and scenic landscapes on Earth ? and is often depicted as a country shaped like a boot with an extremely picturesque setting. It has an atmosphere of extreme welcomeness and hospitality as well.
The Euro is the prime currency of the country which is highly common in the entire continent. The country of Italy has a mostly Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and cold rainy winters. However certain notable places that are essential to be visited are-Ostia Antica , the Doge’s Palace, the ancient Colosseum , the bewildering Leaning Tower of Pisa( which gets more and more tilted by the passing day.) Mordern places-Although, Italy does not have many mordern places, there are certain places which lure the likes of people from all over the world, from far and wide and leave them jaw dropped. There are a plethora of hotels in the city like these which I had informed. If you visit Paris I suggest that you will have a fascinating stay in the hotels which I have suggested.

1Eiffel Tower

What would Paris be without its symbolic Eiffel Tower? Built by Gustave Eiffel to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution, it is presented at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. 324 meters high, it is one of the most explored monuments in the world with nearly 7 million visitors a year.

The first floor houses the Eiffel Tower 58 which extends over two levels, 58 meters above the ground as its name suggests. On the second floor, the view is the best at 115 meters because you have a diving view on the ground below. Finally on the 3rd floor at 275 meters, you can see what the office of Gustave Eiffel was. For the more adventurous one, it is possible to use the stairs and climb the steps (1,665 to the summit).

The ascent of the Eiffel Tower is a must to enjoy the dazzling view of Paris.

  1. Notre Dame Cathedral

One of the most alluring symbol.  Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as Notre Dame, a Roman Catholic cathedral is located on the eastern half of the Ile de la Cité. The construction of it begun in 1163 and was fully completed in 1345, this cathedral is a sight with its portals surrounded by his many sculptures and gargoyles that adorn the roof. I advise you to walk to the top of cathedral which is maximum of 387 steps. The climb to the top of towers must be exhausting, but you will get a panoramic view of the region.

  1. Cruise on Seine

If you want to visit “ The city of Light” then you surely will have amusement on the cruise of Seine , When the sun sets, the monuments are lit slowly. You get a charismatic view  to the forefront so you can have a gala time of the beauty of Paris: Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Pont Alexandre III and many more.
